Xiaowei Luo was a lecturer, associate professor and full-time professor at Tongji University in the Department of Architecture. Her research and teaching focus was on foreign architecture, especially on the modern western architecture like the Bauhaus movement. She was one of the first ones who introduced these architectural theories in China by teaching classes on the history of modern foreign architecture and publishing a book on this topic.
Although Xiaowei Luo never accomplished independent design projects, she made great contributions to the field of architecture theory, by introducing modern western architecture to the Chinese architectural education.
