Sychova (nee Kanyankova) was born in Leningrad (St. Petersburg) in 1928. She graduated in architecture from Urals Polytechnics Institute in Sverdlovsk (Ekaterinburg) in 1956. Upon graduation, she moved to Minsk, where she was employed at Beldzyarzhpraekt between 1958 and 1961. In 1960, she enrolled into the doctoral program at Belarusian Polytechnic Institute, where she also became an assistant and subsequently faculty member. In 1983, Sychova received her secondary doctorate, becoming a professor of urban planning in 1985. In 1997, Sychova became an academician of Belarusian Academy of Architecture.

Sychova’s design work includes the planning of recreational zone of Narach lake and Psich reservoir near Minsk (1959), the suburban zone of Grodna (1960), the planning of recreational zone on Volma river (1969), park in Berazino (1979), and reconstructions of parks in Lagoysk (1980) and Malaryts (1986). Her academic work includes six monographs and numerous other publications on landscape architecture, urban planning, and nature in the city (see Bibliography). Within a group of authors that also included Iryna Ioda and  Yauheniya Ahranovich-Panamarova Sychova received the State Prize of Belarus in 2000 for a study of the formation of Belarusian scientific school.
