Short Biography and Work

Andrea Krüger-Sander (née Krüger) was born in Jüterbog in 1957 and studied architecture at the HAB Weimar (College of Architecture and Civil Engineering) from 1976.

From 1981 she worked as an architect in the office of the chief architect of the city of Leipzig in the urban design department, then in 1987 at the Konsumgenossenschaft Leipzig in the shop fitting department. She was also involved in major competitions: Together with the architects Angela Wandelt and Stefan Riedel and the artist Heinz-Jürgen Böhme, she was part of the collective “NEUE UFER”, which planned the opening of the closed Pleißemühlgraben and Elstermühlgraben as part of a competition for the centre of Leipzig in 1988.

After reunification, she worked as an architect in various constellations, since 2004 in her office a.ks Architektur.
