For more than 40 years Dr. Ángela Rojas has been teaching and publishing in several faculties of architecture around the world as honorary Member of the National Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) and as president of the Latin American Division of the International Committee on Historic Cities, Towns and Villages (CIVVIH). Her field is the theory and history of architecture and urbanism as well as heritage conservation, specifically in Old Havana. During her career she has carried out urban projects for new rural settlements and areas of the city of Havana.
Her wide range of research works and publications include capacity building on conservation, cultural routes, mining heritage and heritage bridges. Her current research includes values and attributes in heritage, serial properties and other themes related to World Heritage. She has lectured or taught as a guest professor in Cuba, Mexico, Argentina, Angola, Bolivia, Dominican Republic, Spain, Italy, Canada, Barbados and China.
