Short Biography

The architectural work of Huiyin Lin comprised theoretical and practical achievements. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, Huiyin Lin returned to China and started teaching at the Dongbei University in 1928. She did research in architectural history, especially in the field of ancient Chinese architecture. Besides her theoretical work, she completed in collaboration with her husband Liang Sicheng several architectural projects, such as the school building of Jilin University, the school building of the Jinzhou branch of Jiaotong University, Xiao He Garden, as well as the Fuzhou East Street Literary Theater.
