Salamova was born in 1933. In 1960, she graduated in architecture from the Academy of the Arts in Leningrad (St. Petersburg).
Upon graduation, returned to Azerbaijan, where she was employed as an architect at AzerDovlatLayiha, moving to a deputy head of a design workshop in 1972. She designed the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences’ Microbiology Institute and Institute for Genetics in Baku; a memorial (1969) and a monument to composer Uzeyir Hajibeyov (both in Shusha, Azerbaijan); and a guest house for a hydro-junction on River Araks in Iran (1966-1967). Among her other projects in Azerbaijan are several buildings in Sumqayıt, which include a group of 12-storey apartment buildings (1970-1973), an exhibition complex (1964-1967), a shopping center (with Yu. P. Tolstonogov, 1971), and the Seaside Park (1966-1967).
Salamova subsequently moved to the Directorate for the Reconstruction of Buildings, Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, where she headed a workshop. In this position, she led the projects for restoration and adaptive reuse of the buildings of the Lutheran church and the synagogue, of Jumah mosque in Shamakhi, and of Upper Caravanserai in Shusha City (1981-1983).
