The Lithuanian architect and fashion designer was born on 27 March 1929 in the capital Kaunas. Liucija Zaveckienė studied at Kaunas Polytechnic Institute (today: Vilnius Gediminas Technical University) from 1948 to 1954. Immediately after graduation, she received an assignment as chief engineer in the construction group of the Vilnius Construction Trust, where she was employed until 1960. She then moved to the Experimental Furniture Design and Construction Bureau of the Lithuanian SSR and became chief designer.
With her colleague Lygija Stapulionienė of the Experimental Furniture Design and Construction Bureau, she designed the furniture of the Lithuanian National Library Martynas Mažvydas in 1961 and the interior of a bar of the Lithuanian Opera and Ballet Theatre a year earlier. She was also commissioned to design the interiors of the Vilnius Television Tower in 1980 and, earlier, the furniture of the hall of the Klaipėda Drama Theatre in the Lithuanian port city of Klaipėda in 1965. She also worked outside the Lithuanian SSR. In Moscow, her work can also be found in the offices and halls of the Small Academic Theatre and the colleges of the Radio Committee.
In addition to the mentioned projects, her furniture was mass-produced and made available for use in private offices and residential interiors.
