Short Biography

Alinauskene (nee Stupnitska) was born in Chernihiv district, Ukraine, in the family of Ukrainian journalist and editor Leonid Stupnitsky. The family soon moved to Lviv, where Stupnitska graduated from the Civil Engineering Department of Lviv Polytechnic Institute in 1967. Upon graduating, she moved to Lithuania, where she worked at the Kaunas branch of the Institute for the Restoration of Monuments of the Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic. In 1976 she returned to Lviv, where she became a senior, and subsequently a leading, architect at Lviv Complex Architectural and Restoration Workshop (LKARM) within the institute Ukrproektrestavratsiya (1989-1996). In 1996 she was awarded the State Prize in Architecture as part of the collective that worked on the restoration of the Church of John the Baptist in Lviv.

Work

Among her works are the restoration of the Pomoriany Castle (1978, with L. Dmitrovich), the restoration of the Church of John the Baptist in Lviv (1989, with Ivan Mohytych and Volodymyr Shvets), the restoration of the Greek-Catholic church of Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help (Mary of the Snow), and the restoration of Zolochiv Castle (1985).
