Chişinău Polytechnic Institute
The Chişinău Polytechnic Institute (today the Technical University of Moldova) was founded in 1964 in the course of reorganization of engineering and economic departments of Moldova State University. It remained the only institution of technical higher education in the republic. The Department of Construction was among the original five departments within the institute.

Moldavstroiproekt / Moldgiprogorselistroi / Moldgiprostroy
Institute Moldavstroiproekt (Moldovan Construction and Design Institute) was founded in 1944, responsible for urban planning in the republic. It was renamed Moldgiprogorselistroi (Moldovan State Institute of Rural Construction) in 1954 and Moldgiprostroi (Moldovan State Institute of Design and Construction) in 1957. During the postwar period, it led the reconstruction efforts. During the 1970s and the 1980s it worked on a number of high-profile design and construction commissions. Since 1998, it has been known as National Research and Design Institute “Urbanproekt.”

Chişinăugorproekt
The institute Chişinăugorproekt (Chişinău Urban Design Institute) was founded in 1974 to develop the general plan of Moldova’s capital and other urban-planning projects. It was subsequently tasked with developing solutions for monolithic concrete construction, working in cooperation with Gosgrazhdanstroi. In the 1970s, it employed over 700 people.

Founded in 1977, Chişinăuzelenstroi, or Chişinău Trust of Green Construction, was responsible for landscape architecture in the city, including the design and maintenance of public park, nature preserves, and other green open spaces.

Design and Technology Trust Orgstroy [Organization of Construction] was created in Chişinău in 1962 to support construction by developing technological solutions for high-rise panel concrete buildings, construction technology, and construction works mechanisms.
