Short Biography and Work

Sigrid Maciaszek was born in 1935. She first did an apprenticeship as a technical draughtswoman and then studied architecture at the HAB Weimar.

Among other things, Maciaszek worked at VEB WGK in Frankfurt/Oder as a department head and was also active as an architect and civil engineer from 1957 in Eisenhüttenstadt, where she was the chief city architect for a short time. She was also involved in the redesign of the town centres of Bernau and Fürstenwalde.

In addition to her work in Eisenhüttenstadt, Frankfurt/Oder, Bernau and Fürstenwalde, she also produced studies for Berlin, which were, however, no longer realised due to the fall of the Berlin Wall.

In 2015 she was honored with an exhibition at the IRS Erkner on her work.
