Rouzan Alaverdyan was born in 1946 in Yerevan and graduated from the department of architecture in Yerevan Polytechnic Institue in 1970. She worked at Yerevan Project Institute from 1970-95, since 2000 she has been working as a Deputy Minister of Urban Development of the Republic of Armenia.

Bagdasaryan worked in architecture and urban planning, mostly in Yerevan. She was also interested in applied arts and participated in arts and craft exhibitions in Armenia and abroad.

Iza Cholahyan worked as an architect in several projects and also in designing commemorative plaques or monuments to all the important figures of Armenian modernism.

Loretta (Lola) Dolukhanyan dedicated herself to writig about Armenian architecture and worked as an academic advisor to the Engineering Academy of Armenia. She published several notable aricles and books.

Harutyunyan focused mainly on landscape architecture, as well as architectural projects in rural areas. She was responsible for the design of buildings for public institutions in various towns and villages in Armenia.

Hayrapetyan worked as an architect, interior designer and lecturer mostly in Armenia, but also in Moscow. One of her well known designs is the Puppet Theatre in Yerevan, where she designed the facade and the interior.

Working as an architect, Ruzan Indzhikyan focussed on the construction of residential buildings as well as the development of a micro-district. She worked in Armenia and Georgia.

Mesheryakova was worked as an architect and is most famous for designing the Central House of Chess Player in Yerevan, 1970. She also desinged several residentail buildings and worked as a chief specialist at Yerevanproekt.

Perchanush Msryan-Oksuzyan worked as an architect, mainly working on housing projects but also on reconstruction, and later as a lecturer. She also published a book.

Anahit Navasardyan desgined severel different types of buildings, like kindergartens, hotels and polyclinics. She was also responsible for the award-winning design of the Avenue of Heroes and Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Akhtanak Park.

Lia Sararyan worked as an architect mostly in Armenia, but also in Mogadishu, Somalia. Besides her work as an architect she also authored the dictionary directory “Architect” in Russian and the collection “Union of Architects of Armenia. Pages of History”.

Anna Ter-Avetikian, bon 1908 in Yerevan, became the first female architect of Armenia, graduating from the Technical School of Yerevan State University (YSU) in 1930. She worked as an architect for several decades and designed many buildings across the country. For her work, she received a couple of awards.

Tumanyan worked as an architect mostly in Yerevan. Her main works include residential buildings and hotels. She also participated in the development of the Spendaryan Theatre of Opera and Ballet (1933) and the Government House of Yerevan.

Marietta Shahinyan

Marietta Sergeevna Shaginyan (1888-1982) was a Soviet writer, historian, poet, journalist and activist of Armenian descent. She became one of the most prolific communist writers.
