Short Biography

Valentyna Korneeva was a Kyiv-based historic preservation architect and author, who specialized on ecclesiastical architecture. Korneeva graduated from Kyiv Art Institute in 1955, moving to work in UkrNDIproiektrestavratsia (Ukrainian State Scientific-Research and Design Institute of Restauration), where she moved up to the position of project head.

Work

Among her projects are St. Cyril’s Church, Kyiv (1967), Christmas church at  the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra (1971-1988), Assumption Cathedral in Kharkiv (1986), Carmelite Monastery in Berdychiv (1989-1990), St. Andrew’s Church in Kyiv (1990).

She also authored articles about these buildings.
